The Best Streaming Services

The way people watch television has changed completely in modern years. Streaming services have taken over and live TV is slowly becoming extinct. With people having to deal with priorities such as jobs, school, family, and other general errands, the leisure of being able to stream your favorite TV show or movie without having to set DVR is much simpler than having to watch live TV or having to record a show which you could possibly forget if you’re in a rush to leave your home. Even television networks are creating their streaming services now.

With the demand of streaming increasing, more companies are starting to provide their own services. However, some aren’t as great as others, and there’s many streaming platforms that still need more time to develop. Because there are some that aren’t quite worth the money, here are the best options for value of money.

3. Hulu and Hulu + Live TV ($5.99-$60.99/month)

While it’s more on the pricier side, Hulu+ Live TV is the best streaming service package available. You can have 60+ channels and stream Hulu with no advertisements for $60.99. If that’s too expensive, you could just get the plain Hulu package for $5.99 a month or the no ads version of that for $11.99. The downside of Hulu+ Live TV is that it carries very few entertainment and sports channels on live TV. There also isn’t a great number of local channels depending on the city the person lives in. But if the person can afford it, they’re getting a lot of features for Hulu + Live TV.

2. Disney+ ($6.99/month)

The Disney streaming service may not sound appealing until you take into account how much intellectual property Disney owns. Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, ESPN and others all fall under Disney, and if Disney+ can eventually provide options such as complimentary ESPN+, it’ll be a huge game changer because most streaming services lack in sports content.

What’s also good about Disney+ is that unlike most streaming services, you can view shows and movies offline off of 10 devices, have up to 7 user profiles, and have unlimited show and movie downloads, all while it being the most family friendly. It’s fairly new, but Disney has something very unique here that’s only going to improve over time.

1. Netflix ($8.99-$15.99/month)

They’ve been in the game for so long and Netflix is still standing strong. Disney taking a huge amount of their content off of other streaming services may have negatively impacted Netflix, but making ‘Netflix Originals’ helped the platform out tremendously. They’re handing out huge checks to some of the top entertainers across the world like Dave Chapelle, and it’s paying off for the red brand.

Netflix’s subscription options are simple and very affordable, with the standard plan for $12.99 being the best out of their three plans because it’s HD unlike the basic and many people may not have the internet speed or a good enough device to stream 4k Ultra HD with the premium plan. It may be a while before someone dethrones the big N in pure streaming.
